As a Chicago native, Katie played high school and club volleyball before committing to play D1 volleyball at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Majoring in exercise science & kinesiology with a minor in psychology provided Katie a solid foundation in exercise prescription and performance, helping her address the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of fitness.
Katie received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the #1 ranked school - University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. While living in sunny Southern California, she used specific biomechanics and motor learning principles to train overhead athletes in volleyball, baseball, tennis and swimming. Katie worked the medical tent for Get Noticed Beach Volleyball tournaments and saw firsthand the common injuries in adolescent volleyball players. As a physical therapist, Katie is trained to be a movement specialist and to correct faulty movement patterns to limit the risk of injury and improve performance.
Many of our club members have been fortunate to train with Katie last year, and we are thrilled to also welcome Katie to our coaching staff this year. Katie is a member of USA Volleyball and is both Safe Sport and Impact Certified.
